We have an exciting opportunity for a talented consultant with up to 5 years’ experience, to join our urban design and townscape/landscape and visual assessment team in our King’s Cross office. We are open to applications from more experienced consultants who may be interested in developing their career at Lichfields. Any candidate must demonstrate an understanding of and aptitude for the technical aspects of townscape and/or landscape and visual impact assessment (T/LVIA).

Our team supports development projects and land promotion for in-house planning teams covering a wide range of sectors (including housing, education, retail, leisure, sport and infrastructure) as well as providing independent advice to clients including leading housebuilders, developers and landowners.
We offer a varied workload includes preparing townscape/ landscape and visual impact assessments for projects across the UK from small scale, sensitive sites to larger/ taller developments requiting Environmental Impact Assessment and preparing townscape evidence for appeal. You will be involved in all stages of the process working with our in house GIS, visualisation and graphics consultants.
Our team is based within our urban design and major projects workgroup and there may also be opportunities to provide inputs to masterplanning and urban design projects. More information on our urban design and T/LVIA services can be found here.
We will expect all candidates to have at least a 2:1 or equivalent at first degree and full information on A level, GCSE and other qualifications should be provided. Candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical, presentation and writing skills, be familiar with Adobe Creative Suite and AutoCAD as well as being a competent photographer.
Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute or Recognised Urban Design Practitioner status will be an advantage for more experienced candidates.
