We have two exciting opportunities for heritage consultants in our King’s Cross office for candidates with upto five years’ experience. One position will be ideal for a graduate, post-graduate or someone with around one years’ experience; the other for someone with two or three years’ experience or more.

Lichfields is the pre-eminent planning and development consultancy in the UK and is recognised as one of the ‘Best Places to Work in Property’ by Property Week magazine. We are looking for bright, creative and committed people who can deliver high quality heritage advice to our clients.

We are owned by an employee benefit trust and run and managed for the benefit of its staff with no obligations to external shareholders. Our profits are reinvested into the business and shared with staff through bonuses.

We offer an exciting workload on all aspects of the historic environment including world heritage sites, listed buildings, conservation areas and historic landscapes. You will help to prepare assessments of historic significance, the impacts of developments on the historic environment, as well as plans and policies for the conservation of the historic environment. Our heritage team have a fantastic track record of high profile projects, such BBC Broadcasting House, Southbank Centre, Warwick Castle, Manchester Town Hall and Blackpool Tower; and you can expect to work on similar types of projects. For more information our Heritage service guide can be found here.

For graduates and post-graduates who may wish to apply we have a programme to develop your professional and interpersonal skills so that they can achieve membership of the IHBC, RTPI or RICS. Mentoring and networking opportunities are provided to help build supportive relationships.

For those with more experience our heritage team is a very successful one and it’s growing. It will provide a great environment for you to develop your career working on a wide range of projects and supported by our learning and development programme.  You may currently be in another consultancy role or working in local government or elsewhere. If you have good heritage expertise and a desire to succeed we can help you realise your objectives.

We will expect all candidates to have at least a 2:1 or equivalent at first degree and full information on A level, GCSE and other qualifications should be provided.  Candidates should demonstrate good analytical, presentation and writing skills, together with a clear commitment to working in the historic environment field.
