We have an exciting opportunity for a town planner with aviation experience at around Senior Planner Level. You will need to have a strong interest and experience in the aviation sector. You will join a small team to advise clients in the public and private sector on airport operational and related development.
You will work alongside Lichfields colleagues with specialist skills in airport planning, economics, masterplanning, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Development Consent Orders (DCO), Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO) and heritage - to shape development projects. You will report to a Senior Director, and demonstrate your ability to work as part of a team, and engage in the following areas of work:

You will ideally have around 4-6 years’ experience and have recently worked on airport and/or other related infrastructure projects. You will be familiar with, and have the ability to address the planning and related issues typically associated with this type of development. You will have good technical knowledge including an understanding of national airport policy, environmental issues at airports, masterplans, the use of Part 8 GDPO rights and key stakeholders. You will also have an appreciation of the economic impacts of airports and related development. You should be able to develop new business in these sectors through a thorough understanding of emerging policy, current and future markets and by working collaboratively with professional networks.
You will need to demonstrate a high level of technical competence and quality of work, carried out with minimal supervision. You will be expected to have a high standard of written and spoken English, with good analytical and interpersonal skills. You must be able to work on a number of projects and demonstrate the ability to manage your own time and workload. You will have market credibility and show a proven ability to win new work and clients, and nurture existing client relationships to win repeat business.
